This November’s election will have over 250 candidates running for city council races in Orange County and candidly the majority are not pro-business. Additionally, the changing voter registrations in Orange County and the dynamics of the Presidential election will present significant challenges. The good news is we are organized and have the OCADA-Political Action Committee (PAC) which is designed to identify and support pro-dealer candidates. Our strategy is straightforward – we identify pro-dealer candidates through the use of a questionnaire, and we solicit input from Dealers who have firsthand knowledge of the candidates in their cities. This is no simple task and the consequences are long lasting, so I commend our OCADA-PAC Board of Directors and the individual Dealers that play such an important role in this process. To be successful, we need every Dealer to participate and here is how you can help:1. Help us identify the pro-dealer candidates in your city. 2. Contribute to the OCADA-PAC – 100% goes to pro-dealer candidates. These two actions are crucial to our success in November and the future of our industry. There is a saying in politics, “Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you” and your business. With this in mind let’s make sure we have a seat at the table and the best way to do that is through the OCADA-PAC.“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you” orange countyOnly one player knows all the moves and how to pick a winning strategy every time 49 STATESWE WORK IN 49 STATES WITH 28 MANUFACTURERS15 ASSOCIATIONSWE ARE ENDORSED/LICENSED BY 15 STATE AUTO DEALER ASSOCIATIONS(888) 477-2228info@dealeruplift.com | www.dealeruplift.comArmatus provides the industry’s only turn-key solution for retail warranty reimbursement submissions. These scholarships support local students who want to join our industry and were awarded in the form of textbooks, safety uniforms, multi-meter toolkits, and funds for tuition and lab fees. Some of the winners already work in Orange County dealerships and have made the decision to attend a Community College to improve their skills with the goal of moving up in their career.Thank you to the members of OCADA, as you played an integral role in this opportunity to provide scholarships to Automotive Technology students at Orange County Community Colleges.Cypress College, Fullerton College, Golden West College, Saddleback College, and Santa Ana College have great Automotive Technology programs for about 1/10th of the cost of for-profit automotive colleges so students aren’t saddled with debt. They are a great place to find entry-level technicians to hire. OCADA can connect you to grads – contact Kim McPhaul at (949) 428-5050 or Kim@ocada.org.9Next >
